Advancement

Advancement's role is to advance the freshmen class of engineers. Advancement helps to prepare freshman for future leadership roles, especially from a corporate relations standpoint. They will be in charge of plant trips, a dinner with a company-speaker (open to all freshmen engineers,) and last but not least the leaders of a Rube Goldberg LIFE team! Don't know what Rube Goldberg is? Youtube it.

Development

LIFE's Development committee is the liaison between LIFE and LIFE's parent organization, SEC. We provide freshman engineers opportunities to interact with SEC and other organizations.  This increases engineering awareness, and begins providing the freshman with leadership abilities that will aid future professional advancement. DMent also is in charge of Shack-a-Thon, a week long event where LIFErs build and live in a shack!

External

The External committee focuses on outside relations with other Freshman Leadership Organizations.  Our goal is to enhance communication by participating in and hosting inter-FLO events.  The committee also caters to the students of the college of engineering by offering final exam reviews at the end of each semester.  This, it turn, promotes the primary duty of SEC, which is to serve the students of the college of engineering

Internal

Just as the name sounds, Internal is designed to develop freshman leadership within LIFE activities.  The committee is in charge of meetings and intramurals.  They also find speakers and coordinate lunch buddies. Internal also have the amazing ability to be in charge of keeping all the paperwork, records, and memories in order. This includes things that a secretary and historian would do. We also make member information accessible to the staff and members by means of the LIFELines and the annual member directory. Lastly, we oversee the birthday celebrations and the creation, purchase, and distribution of LIFEwear.

Service

The Service Committee, as the name describes, organized all of the service-related activities for LIFE.  In the past, this has included helping with Habitat for Humanity, organized the group to participate in Replant and Big Event, as well as any other activities that the committee chooses.  This is a great opportunity to help get involved outside of our small group.

Socials

LIFE's Socials Committee is responsible for helping create strong friendships within our organization.  The primary responsibilities of the committee are the retreats in both the spring and the fall. Socials also plans the Fall Formal, which is a fun formal dance for all LIFErs and anyone they choose to bring as their dates. Socials is also the head committee in charge of camping out for football games, so we get awesome seats, and have somewhere to hangout on a random week night.  The fall retreat is the first real event that freshmen attend after selection and is important to get everyone excited for a great year.  Other responsibilities include guys and girls nights and other events just for fun!

Co-Chairs

LIFE's Co-Chairs are the most awesome and oldest members. They are both juniors, with two years of experience with the organization. They're sole responsibility is to take care of LIFE, its members, and make sure everyone has the max amount of fun as possible! Don't be alarmed by the cuteness of these two adorable girls, they are legitimately amazing.
